The last few years have been especially tough and many of us have found ourselves struggling to cope.

We in the UK were already working some of the longest hours in Europe before the pandemic and now many of us are finding it even more difficult to ‘switch off’ since working partly or fully from home became the norm. Unsurprisingly, work related stress is on the increase.

In a recent survey, 3 in 4 Britons reported feeling so stressed at least once in the previous 12 months they had felt overwhelmed and unable to cope. A staggering 1 in 3 said they had been left feeling suicidal as a result of stress and 1 in 6 reported actually having self harmed.

Studies suggest that introducing regular yoga sessions into the workplace can improve staff well-being: reducing stress levels; improving confidence, clarity and decision making among employees at every level; increasing productivity; and creating a greater sense of job satisfaction.

Having worked in highly pressurised environments for nearly three decades (as a criminal lawyer for 20 years and, before that, as a journalist and then in marketing), I well understand the challenges of business and the strain these place on employees, managers and executives as they struggle to establish any sort of work/life balance.

I offer workplace based classes (or online private group sessions) on either a regular or a one-off basis. Sessions can be arranged before the working day, during the lunch hour or in the evening. Weekend workshops tailored to your employees are also available.
